Dr.Alexander Nicolaides

Dr. Alexander Nicolaides is a board-certified dermatologist who was born in PA and raised in Greece. After finishing high school in Greece, he moved back to the US and attended Brooklyn College. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in Biology and Chemistry.

Dr. Alexander Nicolaides’s research interests led him to a path of dermatological research led by world- renowned research dermatologist Dr. Friedman-kie  in the ground breaking research of a skin condition called Kaposi’s Sarcoma. Dr. Nicolaides  had numerous publications in the AIDS- related Kaposi’s Sarcoma skin condition. This research inspired Dr. Nicolaides to become a dermatologist and that led his path to attend SUNY Downstate School of Medicine, of which he finished at the top of his class. After medical school, Dr. Nicolaides completed an internship at Montefiore  Medical Center.  Dr.Nicolaides completed his dermatology training (1997-2000) at New York Medical College where he also served as chief resident. He opened his private practice in 2000 and since has been focused on his medical and cosmetic dermatology. He has hospital appointment in Columbia, NY Presbyterian Hospital and Mount Sinai of NY and Queens. He is a proud member of the American Board of Dermatology & Medical Society of the State of New York & New York County Medical Society & Allergic Contact Dermatitis Society.
