When we smile, our muscles contract, creating wrinkles, or what some refer to as “laugh lines” or “crow’s feet” around the eyes. With repetitive contraction of these muscles as we age, these lines become deeper, permanent wrinkles.
However, treatment is available. Injections such as Botox and Dyport are used to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and prevent wrinkle-causing and squint-inducing facial movement.
Dermal filler, such as VOLUMA or Juvederm are used to improve mid-face volume loss and hollowness around the eyes.
Wrinkles are a natural part of aging, most prominent on sun-exposed skin, such as the face, neck, hands and forearms. Some factors affect when and where people will develop wrinkles, skin-resurfacing techniques, fillers, injectables, sun damage, smoking, dehydration, some medications, and environmental and genetics all play a roll. Most basic wrinkle treatments such as topical retinoid creams tend to help reduce the fine lines. For deeper creases, there are more aggressive techniques, such as injections of fillers as well as skin resurfacing techniques. A combination of these are used for best results.
Over time, our face changes in many ways. This is part of the normal aging process and as we age you may notice a change in the appearance of your skin, typically in the form of deepening parentheses lines and wrinkles. Your cheeks may flatten, and the skin may begin to sag.
The most common method of replacing lost volume are with dermal filler injections. Dermal fillers can effectively restore the lost volume and improve the contour and shape of your face. Areas that can benefit from fillers are cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines (parentheses lines and wrinkles), temples and lips. To give your face a more youthful appearance we treat with restylane lyft, radiesse, juvederm voluma, and PRP.
Cheek Fillers benefits:
Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, plumper lips. An injectable dermal filler called Hyaluronic Acid is the most commonly used method of lip augmentation.
Fillers can improve the appearance of your lips by adding shape, volume, structure. The effects typically last around six months. After that more injections are needed to keep the volume of your lips. We use Restylane, Juvederm, and Belotero.

The hair follicle has a gland inside it that produces oil. This is called the sebaceous gland. When the sebaceous gland releases oil, the oil rises to the top of the skin and collects in the pore. The primary causes of enlarged pores are acne caused by blocked oily skin follicles and rosacea. We treat enlarged pores with micro laser peels, chemical peels, and retinoid creams.
The flat brown and black spots that occur on areas exposed to the sun are called age spots or sun spots. The most common effected areas are the face, hands, chest and back.
They are caused by aging, exposure to sunlight, and exposure to UV in tanning beds. Daily sun block is the most effective preventative measure.
We treat age spots with BBL, Profractional Laser, Chemical Peels, and Retinoid Creams.
When a person gets older, the skin that covers their eyelids gets thinner, which can lead to the blood vessels looking more obvious and giving them a darker look. Excess pigment may also be present.
We treat Dark Circles Under the Eyes with BBL, Chemical Peel, Juvederm, Laser Skin Peels.
Lines and creases on the forehead are quite common, and are generally associated with age and more movement of the muscles of the face.
Movement of the forehead and glabellar (between the brows) leads to indented skin, which eventually is depressed even at rest. These lines can be reduced if the muscles are relaxed with Botox or Xeomin or Dysport.
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero may be used to minimize deeply entrenched lines (deep wrinkles) in conjunction with Botox. Laser Skin peels and Profractional lasers can also be used to minimize persistent forehead lines.
Crow’s feet refer to wrinkles at the outer portion of the eyes. They are associated with aging changes in skin as well as the muscle movement caused by facial expressions. Frequent exposure to sun and cigarette smoke results in premature skin wrinkling.
Dr Nicolaides and his team utilize a wide variety of treatments to aid in the restoration of the skin and the reduction of crows feet and wrinkles. Effective procedures for crows feet include Botox®, advanced skin-care products, Xeomin, laser resurfacing, etc.
